Critical Role Campaign 4 Reveals the Fighters Group

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in influence within the city.

Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season are included.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.

The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).

Dividing the Cast

Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.

This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the events of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

For one thing, the party knows exactly where to head next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.

Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, striking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.

Casimir then paid off his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Character Drivers

Additionally, each character has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants revenge.
  • Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
  • The strong character and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
  • But, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could assist the group access locations they usually can’t.
  • Moreover, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.

This means them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.

Future Episodes

According to the latest episode’s post-show segment, we discover that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Seekers and Planners tables.

Viewers can expect finding out which adventurers will be where in the season’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
